Jesús del Pozo's Foundation

Concerned with improving and professionalizing the fashion industry in Spain, Jesús del Pozo has decided to transmit the knowledge he has acquired as both a designer and a businessman through a Foundation that bares his name. Created in 2003, the Jesús del Pozo Foundation's main objective is to promote and collaborate with educational programmes related with the worlds of design and fashion. This project seeks to improve the training received by young people, be they designers, or students from other related areas, such as pattern making, P.R. or fashion sector specific management. Much is done througn the foundation's grant system that allows them to get work experience in their area of interest.

The idea of creating the Foundation originated from the designer's close contact with the world of academia, where he was often requested to be guest lecturer. The most relevant examples of this contact being: University of Granada (“Fashion and design” seminar), the Menéndez Pelayo University (“A vision of fashion from Spain” conference), the Formation Institute of the region of Madrid (“Empresa and Fashion Communication” course), The University of Navarre and the Summer Courses at the Escorial of the Complutense University. Jesús del Pozo was also the artistic consultant of the Centro Superior de Diseño y Moda of the Madrid Polytechnic University. His latest academic adeventure was as director of the MBA in Fashion and Design Business Administration, an innovative joint programme of Madrid's Chamber of Commerce and the King Juan Carlos University, inaugurated in February 2009.
